The method involves providing an information layer (4) with a modified portion (6) and an unmodified portion (7), where the layer in the unmodified portion is different to the modified portion relative to processing properties. The layer is provided with personalized information (5a, 5b) in a personalization step using a laser (8) e.g. UV-laser, where the modified portion reacts differently to processing by the laser than the unmodified portion. The information (5a) in the modified portion is represented differently than the information (5b) in the unmodified portion. The personalized information is a name of a person.
