A method for assigning carriers to a mobile station (MS) includes: a base station (BS) sends a carrier assignment message to an MS, and the message includes the information of TBFs that are assigned one carrier and/or multiple carriers. With the method for assigning carriers to an MS, one carrier and/or multiple carriers can be assigned to one or more than one TFB between an MS and a BS through an assignment message.
