The present invention relates to the method for removal of radionuclides from the ground water containing iron and manganese. Water is pumped from a bore well to the installation comprising at least an aerator, a contact chamber, filters and a degasifier. The method includes steps to aerate water, thereafter the aerated water is kept in the contact chamber to allow formation of iron hydroxide floes and manganese dioxide floes from iron and manganese contained in the water. Excess air as well as other gases are separated from the water. Further co-precipitation of said floes and grains bonded with radionuclides is performed and the radionuclides still present in the water are filtrated out by adsorption thereof to the layer of manganese dioxide on the surface of filter material.
|
