PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for readily and accurately analyze oil components, in a quantitative way. SOLUTION: A carboxylic acid derivative contained in the oil components of an aqueous washing solution is converted to a free carboxylic acid which, in turn, is sequentially made to react with an alcohol to form an ester. The oil component after esterification is extracted by a water-insoluble organic solvent, and the mass of the oil component, such as the carboxylic ester, extracted by the organic solvent is subsequently measured. Accordingly, since precipitation of the carboxylic acid can be prevented when the oil component of an aqueous processing solution or its cleaning solution is analyzed, speeding up of analysis operation is obtained, and quantitative analysis can be made in a simple and accurate way.
