959,543. Clutch discs. FICHTEL & SACHS A.G. Jan. 7, 1963 [Jan. 9, 1962], No. 753/63. Heading F2U. A clutch disc 7 is secured to the hub 5, 10 by a vibration-damping member 1, 11 of rubber or like resilient material and of double frustoconical form, the inner portion of which is bonded to a sleeve 4, 13 connected to the hub by split force fit rings 6 preferably formed with internal and external teeth engaging similar teeth on the respective members. Each ring is preferably formed from a flat strip of material, on the opposite faces of which the teeth are formed by rolling or embossing, the strip being bent to the appropriate diameter. As shown in Fig. 1, the member 1 is formed in one piece, its outer surface being bonded to angle rings 2, 3, to the former of which the disc 7 is riveted. In the arrangement according to Fig. 2, the member 11 is in two similar portions mounted one on either side of a central disc 9 welded to the hub members 10, and provided with circumferential recesses for the reception of stop pins 14 carried between the angle rings 12, 12<SP>1</SP> and serving to limit the angular deflection of the members 11. Frictional damping may be provided between disc 9 and rings 12, 12<SP>1</SP> by making the members 11 of such a section that they are deformed axially during assembly, Fig. 6 (not shown). |
