The present invention relates to a content providing method capable of displaying image data included in content and navigating augmented reality information for the surroundings in which corresponding image data is recorded and a digital device thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the content providing method comprises the following steps: acquiring content including at least one piece of image data; acquiring additional data of the content - the additional data includes the location and direction information of recording device when recording image data included in the content; acquiring virtual information corresponding to the location information of the image data; displaying the image data included in the content; setting a reference direction of a current digital device displaying the image data; detecting direction convert information of the current digital device for the reference direction; and displaying virtual information of a targeted direction based on the direction convert information of the detected current digital device and direction information of the image data. |
