Safety system with an accident detection sensor

The system has a lock (10) that is brought into two states, for locking and unlocking a moving unit (30) of the motor vehicle. A sensor element (31) is activated by a user to affect the state of the lock. An electronic unit (20) is in signal communication with the lock. An accident detection sensor (40) is provided to prevent a state change of the lock operated in an accident situation. A switch (1) is connected to the accident detection sensor. The accident detection sensor is integrated in the sensor element.
