943,131. Automatic lathes; beds. P. BERGONZO. Aug. 31, 1961 [Oct. 7, 1960], No. 31393/61. Headings B3B and B3T. An automatic lathe with rack and pinion operated turret tool-slide has either the headstock 2, Fig. 1, or the support 7 for the turret slide 6, adjustable so that the machine axes can be properly aligned after assembly. When the adjustment is provided on the turret side, an auxiliary support 7 for the turret slide is mounted on a dovetail slide 16 provided on an intermediate member 17 which can be adjusted in a vertical direction by " levelling " screws 18. Adjustment of the support 7 in a transverse direction is effected by screws 20, Fig. 2, bearing on a web depending from the support 7. The latter is finally secured to the headstock by tie-bars 25. Universal joints are used in the drive to the turret slide and indexing mechanisms. |
