1,042,350. Tractor-trailer hitches. Y. B. G. MAZERY. Aug. 1, 1963 [Sept. 4, 1962; June 26, 1963], No. 30573/63. Heading B7T. Discs T, T1, Figs. 1, 2, mounted on the tractor rear axle casings F, F1, are each embraced by rotatable collars C, C1 having extending arms A, B, A1, B1, which converge rearwardly and provide upper and lower pivot pins V and U on a vertical axis Y-Y. The frame P so formed is rockable about an axis X-X and braced by struts I providing lugs O to receive towing links. The trailer is connected to the frame P by a drawbar D and an adjustable telescopic stay K. The frame may be raised or lowered to facilitate hitching, and a jack may be provided at the pin U. In Fig. 3 (not shown), the discs may be eccentrically adjusted about the axle axis Z-Z by means of a pin CL engaging a dog clutch DC, or the discs may be displaceable in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the tractor. In Fig. 4 the frames RF are supported on an axle TA slidable with a block SB. |
