The present invention relates to a rotary vane feeder enabling fluidization of bulk materials. It consists of a supporting structure (1) with a revolving drum (2) mounted therein. The revolving drum (2) comprises a hollow shaft (3) provided with vanes (4), whereby the supporting structure (1) is provided with a funnel and the vanes (4) are provided on their bottom sides with grooves. Channels (5) for supply of fluidization medium are arranges at points at which the vanes (4) connect to the hollow shaft (3). The invention also relates to a fluidization process of bulk material by making use of the above-described rotary vane feeder.
