PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attach a tailgate to a roof panel while positioning with the tailgate supported. SOLUTION: A tailgate attachment adjusting tool includes a frame body 2 for supporting the tailgate; a positioning pin 24 disposed at a lower part of the frame body 2 and inserted into a positioning hole (W21) disposed in a tailgate opening W1; a positioning part 4 disposed in the lower part of the frame body 2 and positioning the tailgate by regulating an opening hole (W4) disposed at a lower part of the tailgate; positioning engagement parts 3 which is disposed on both sides of an upper part of the frame body 2, and positions the frame body 2 by allowing it to be engaged with a contact shaped part (W3) formed on both side surfaces of a rear part of a vehicle body W; a first positioning means 5 which is disposed at the upper part of the frame body 2, and grips the roof panel RP and the tailgate in a direction along a back-and-forth direction of the vehicle body W, and positions their midportions; and a second positioning means 6 which is disposed in the frame body 2 so as to be located in the vicinity of a hinge bracket 8, and grips and positions the roof panel RP and the hinge bracket 8 fixed to the tailgate.
