PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology that optimally controls temperature of a coolant to reduce oil consumption, while minimizing a deterioration in fuel consumption that is caused by a decrease in temperature of the coolant. SOLUTION: A control device for reducing oil consumption includes: an adjusting mechanism for adjusting the temperature of the coolant circulating through an internal combustion engine; an oil consumption amount calculating device for calculating a consumption amount of oil that is used by the internal combustion engine; and a control device for reducing the temperature of the coolant by using the adjusting mechanism when the consumption amount of the oil calculated by the oil consumption amount calculating device is larger than a predetermined amount.
