Use of polyalkyleneimine for the prevention of microbial colonization on textile surfaces and hard household surfaces, is claimed. An independent claim is included for use of a washing or cleaning composition, containing the polyalkyleneimine, for the prevention of microbial colonization of textile surfaces and hard household surfaces.
