In an optical probe for quantitatively determining an analyte, the probe comprising a luminescent solid state material as an internal light source having an excitation spectrum (1) and an emission spectrum (2) and an indicator dye having different, analyte-dependent chemical forms and corresponding analyte-dependent absorption spectra (3,4), wherein the absorption spectrum of at least one form of the indicator dye overlaps with either the excitation spectrum or the emission spectrum of the luminescent solid state material, referred to as a probing spectrum, and the luminescent solid state material has a probing spectrum broader than the absorption spectrum of the indicator dye, by virtue of the indicator dye a first portion and a second portion of the probing spectrum of the luminescent solid state material are quenched to different extents, and wherein the decay time of the emission of the luminescent solid state material is longer than 1 µs.
|
