PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a case for a portable information device that is used as a stand as needed without damaging portability. SOLUTION: The case 1 for the portable information device is a case that is attached detachably to a portable information device having a display part at the front thereof, and has: a case body 2 covering at least the back of the portable information device, a ring-shaped support leg 3, the one edge part of which is connected to the case body 2; and a biaxial hinge mechanism 4 for connecting the case body 2 and the support leg 3 in a relatively rotatable way around a first axis (A1) in parallel with the back of a portable terminal information 21 and around a second axis (A2) perpendicularly to the back. By erecting the support leg 3, the case 1 is used as a stand for making the portable information terminal stand for use.
