<p>Methods and mobile communications devices to communicate data packets via a mobile communications network, the mobile communications network including a radio network part which includes base stations providing different radio access interfaces from which different radio access bearer types can be formed for communicating the data packets from the mobile communications devices, and a core network part which includes infrastructure equipment for communicating the data packets from the radio network part, the mobile communications device including a radio bearer controller configured to determine a traffic profile of the data packets to be communicated via the mobile communications network from one of a predetermined set of possible traffic profiles, and to select one of the different radio access types to provide a radio access bearer of a type most suitable for communicating the data packets from the mobile communications device in accordance with the determined traffic profile of the data packets.</p> |
