[Also in Division G4] A conventional decoding tree is modified by using bi-stable circuits as the switching elements whereby a continuous D.C. output is produced even though the input may be in the form of pulses. The circuit described comprises a first bi-stable circuit Q2, Q3, which, in accordance with its state, routes current from a source Q1 to one of two further bi-stable circuits Q4, Q5 and Q6, Q7. The selected one of these two circuits in turn routes current, in accordance with its state, to one of a further pair of bi-stable circuits either Q8, Q9 and Q10, Q11 or Q12, Q13 and Q14, Q15, and similarly the selected one of these circuits routes current to one of eight output lines Z0 Z1 . . . Z7. The bi-stable circuits are set in accordance with the bits A, B, C of the input number.</p> |
