The device has a thermal insulator (5) moved between a position in which the insulator releases an absorption surface (21) of a solar absorber (2) for absorbing solar radiation concentrated by a solar collector and another position in which the insulator covers the absorption surface of the absorber. The insulator is moved by translation movement and/or rotational movement, where the collector is arranged on a side of the absorber. The insulator has an inner surface that is turned towards the absorber in the latter position, where the inner surface has high reflecting capacity.
