The present invention relates to an elastic terpolymer capable of satisfying excellent mechanical properties and elasticity (flexibility) at the same time, and a preparation method therefor. The elastic terpolymer is a copolymer which consists of 40-70 wt% of ethylene, 15-55 wt% of alpha-olefin having 3-20 carbon atoms, and 0.5-20 wt% of diene, and which is obtained in the presence of a group IV transition metal catalyst. The elastic terpolymer is as follows. i) The weight-average molecular weight of the elastic terpolymer measured by GPC is 100,000-500,000, and ii) the content of the ethylene and the crystallization enthalpy of the elastic terpolymer measured by DSC satisfy a prescribed relation. |
