[Also in Divisions B1 and D1] In a device for the continuous treatment of material webs an evacuable rotatable drum 1 is provided with suction apertures 2 at its periphery, and means for completely shutting each aperture not covered by the web from the drum interior by means of a valve. The material 4 is fed on to the drum 1 and passes under devices 7, 8 for heating and cooling respectively. The valves may be electromagnetic valves or magnetic valves with permanent magnets as valve seats and ball valve elements or gravity actuated valves, or a large number of loose balls acting as valve elements may be provided. |
