A continuous rolling mill comprises a roughing and an intermediate train followed by two parallel finishing trains, the finishing trains being on different levels while having their drives both on the same side of the mill. Work from the roughing and intermediate trains 12 and 13 passes a finishing train 14 or is deflected by guides 46 or 28 to a train 15 mounted on a platform 62. The run-out table from train 14 passes through a channel in the platform, water pipes 67, insulation 65 and a fan 68 being provided for cooling of the platform. Horizontal repeaters 27, 33, 37, 41, 44, 54 and 57 are situated between stands in trains 14 and 15. The trains 14 and 15 may be operated together or singly, train 14 being intended for flat strip and train 15 for sections.</p> |
