The present invention relates to the use of a composition including 3-methyl-2-butenoic acid and/or 3-methyl-2-butenal for attracting predacious insects or parasitic insects of plant-destroying insects, and for inducing the oviposition of said predators or parasites. The composition can be used for preventing the occurrence of plant-destroying insects or for controlling same. The present invention also relates to a method for attracting predacious insects or parasitic insects of plant-destroying insects, and for inducing the oviposition of said predators or parasites, and to a method for preventing the occurrence of and/or controlling plant-destroying insects, in particular aphids.
