918,571. Rifle grenades and sights therefor. BREVETS AERO-MECANIQUES S.A. Aug. 2, 1961 [Sept. 16, 1960], No. 28077/61. Classes 9 (1) and 119. Relates to a sighting device for rifle grenades in which a sighting line tangent to the body of the grenade is caused to pass through both the target and through a notch or mark carried by the sight. The sight comprises a plastic frame 6, Figs. 1, 8, which normally is detachably carried by the grenade 4 but when the latter is to be launched, the frame 6 is removed from the grenade and removably secured to the rifle itself by engagement of a projection 18 on the frame 6 with a socket 19 in the upper portion of the rifle bead sight protector 17. The frame 6 is formed with marks or notches 8, 10, 12 corresponding to different ranges and with a projection 13 for frictional engagement in a hole 14 in the side wall of the grenade during transport and storage. Alternatively, for this purpose, the frame 6 may be secured by spring clips to the body or to a fin of the grenade or fitted within a hollow fin, Figs. 3, 4, 5 (not shown). The frame 6 is also provided on one side with a range-finder scale 21 which permits determination of the range of a target, the height of whioh is known. |
