The invention relates to a device for cutting thermoformed packages, including at least one cutting tool (12) mounted in a tool holder (13) beneath which is provided an anvil actuated by a pneumatic cylinder (16) and movably mounted between a position remote from the tool (12) and a near position in which it engages with said tool so as to crush and break the rigid film made of a polymer material and separating two adjacent packages moving one by one in a thermoforming machine. The device includes, for the passage of the anvil (14) from the remote position to the position near the tool, at least two anvil actuators acting in series, i.e. a first actuator for moving the anvil (14) near the rigid film and a second actuator for the end-of-travel movement up to the cutting tool, thereby enabling the control of the film cutting force.
