PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber porous glass deposit manufacturing method which does not generate unevenness of deposition and can achieve good productivity without lowering a yield rate.SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method in which glass fine particles generated from plural burners for glass fine particle synthesizing are blown against a starting member rotating with its central axis as the rotation axis and movable in the vertical direction to manufacture a porous glass deposit, each burner is arranged so that a central axis of each burner and the rotation axis of the starting member are in a position relationship to be on one plane, and at least two planes of each plane formed by the central axis of each burner and the central axis of the starting member form a specified angle. |
