The invention relates to a method for managing water in a swimming pool, characterised in that it comprises the following steps: measuring the pH or the oxidation/reduction potential of the water in a pool; if the pH or oxidation/reduction potential is outside a pre-determined range, applying a minimum filtration flow rate; and activating an electrolysis/pH/ORP device to return the pH or oxidation/reduction potential to the set level. The invention allows the water-management system to be started-up in the simplest manner possible, supervised at all times by means of a computer program which performs the functions necessary for start-up and configures the necessary parameters.
