<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auto-focusing image system which is stable against a camera state or content of scenery, and not influenced by illumination of an object nor the color and reflectance thereof.SOLUTION: The auto-focusing image system includes a focusing lens 104, a pixel array circuit 108, an A/D converter 110, a processor 112, a display device 114, a memory card 116, a drive motor/circuit 118, an input device 107, a color interpolation unit 148, and a focus signal generator 120. The pixel array circuit 108 acquires an image including at least an edge having a width. The focus signal generator 120 generates a focus signal that is a function of the edge width and various statistical quantities of the edge width. The processor 112 receives the focus signal and/or a statistical quantity of a plurality of edge widths, and adjusts one focus position of the focus lens.</p> |
