The general inventive concepts provide liquid nutritional products with improved viscosities while providing relatively higher levels of protein. In certain exemplary embodiments, the liquid nutritional products further provide beta-hydroxy-beta-methylbutyrate in addition to relatively higher levels of protein while maintaining a pleasant mouthfeel when consumed.
