PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator reference position setting method for an automated manual transmission capable of initialization of an accurate reference position of a finger while minimizing a motion of the finger and assuring a more silent and fast operability by reducing noise generated while the finger is moving for initialization of a reference position.SOLUTION: This invention comprises a simultaneous operating step for moving a finger in a select direction and a shift direction simultaneously, a diagonal line motion confirming step for confirming a motion of the finger in the diagonal line direction between the select direction and the shift direction crossing at a right angle to each other and a select direction motion step for moving the finger in a direction opposite to the select direction moved at the diagonal line motion confirming step to select a reference position.
