<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a square sealed battery of excellent safety in which the discharge strength of gas in a battery is reduced by increasing the open area at a portion acting as a safety valve formed in a sealing plate, so that the gas is discharged within a discharge time.SOLUTION: A square sealed battery has a sealing plate 16A in which a first groove-like thin wall portion 20 becoming a cleavage portion acting as a safety valve when the pressure in the battery rises, and a second thin wall portion 21 for quickening the cleavage timing of the first groove-like thin wall portion or increasing the opening area when cleaved are formed.</p> |
