PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst with which butanol can be synthesized from ethanol at high selectivity, and a synthesis method of butanol using the catalyst.SOLUTION: The catalyst includes a halogenated strontium phosphate apatite having a structure with hydroxyl groups of which a part or the whole are substituted with bromine or iodine. The synthesis method of butanol uses the catalyst.
