Embodiments of the present invention disclose a group transient key (GTK) updating method and a related apparatus and a system, which are used to implement updating of GTK in BSS without increasing additional load of an access point (AP). One method provided in the embodiments of the present invention comprises: an AP setting an update period of a GTK; the AP updating the GTK whenever the update period of the GTK expires; the AP receiving a GTK request sent by a mobile station (STA) in an association table in a preset delay time period after the update period of the GTK expires, the association table recording all mobile STAs in communication with the AP, and the preset delay time being shorter than the update period of the GTK; and when the preset delay time period after the update period of the GTK expires expires, the AP sending the updated GTK to the mobile STA in the association table according to the GTK request. |
