<p>The invention relates to a reliable, sensitive and easy to handle diagnostic and pronostic test for cancer by measuring and analysing the production of methylglyoxal (MG) by metabolically active cancer cells in biological samples of extracellular fluids, cells and/or tissues of human or animal subjects by using any chemical or immunological in vitro method of MG measurement and to a kit for early detection, screening and diagnosis of cancer, for staging cancer, for predicting the survival chance of cancer patients, for monitoring anticancer therapeutic response and for prediction and early detection of cachexia.</p> |
