Provided is a light guide plate in which a side surface is a light entry section that faces an LED and wherein a plurality of dots that scatter light that has entered from the LED are formed on a lower surface, the dots in the vicinity of the light entry section and the dots in the vicinity of the center of the lower surface have approximately the same area, and the lengths of the dots in the vicinity of the center in a direction that is approximately parallel to the light entry section are configured to be longer than the lengths of the dots in the vicinity of the light entry section in the direction that is approximately parallel to the light entry section.
