<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peripheral vehicle recognition device that enables an advanced travel control in accordance with travel of a preceding vehicle.SOLUTION: The peripheral vehicle recognition device is configured to: acquire a vehicle state notification information transmitted by peripheral vehicles existing in a periphery of an own vehicle and including GPS information on the peripheral vehicles (S3); acquire also an inter-vehicular distance r(radar) between a preceding vehicle and the own vehicle (S2); determine a recognition state of the preceding vehicle of the own vehicle as any one of a stand-by state, a detection state and a tracking state from two pieces of the vehicle state notification information and information on the inter-vehicular distance (S4); determine a recognition state of a following vehicle of the own vehicle (S5); and transmit the recognition state of the preceding vehicle and the recognition state of the following vehicle to the periphery of the own vehicle by including these states in the vehicle state notification information (S9). A vehicle receiving the vehicle state notification information can learn not only behavior of the vehicles transmitting the vehicle state notification information but also an existence state of a vehicle further in front of or behind the vehicle transmitting the vehicle state notification information. Thus, the vehicle receiving the vehicle state notification information can perform the more advanced travel control.</p> |
