PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll holding device excellent in handleability, and having a simple and compact structure.SOLUTION: A roll holding device 1 for holding a roll R having a hollow core material includes: a connection part 80 to be fixed to the core material of the roll R; and a support frame 21 for supporting the connection part 80. The support frame 21 includes: a main body frame 22; and a swing frame 23. The swing frame 23 can swing between an attitude where the connection part 80 extends vertically downward, and an attitude where the connection part 80 extends in a horizontal direction or slightly upward from the horizontal direction. The swing frame has a support surface with which an end surface of the roll R comes in contact when the roll R is attached to the connection part 80, and is connected to the main body frame 22 so that attachment of the roll R to the connection part 80 generates force for swinging the swing frame 23, so as to keep an attitude of the swing frame 23 extending in the horizontal direction or slightly upward from the horizontal direction. |
