<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter for an organic El display device, which gives good color reproducibility and sufficient two characteristics of high brightness and a wide color display region in an organic EL display device using an organic EL white light-emitting layer as a light source.SOLUTION: The color filter to be used for an organic EL display device includes a red filter segment, a green filter segment and a blue filter segment formed by using pigments or colored compositions containing at least pigments. In the color filter, the green filter segment contains at least one green pigment selected from C.I.Pigment Green 7 and C.I.Pigment Green 36 and at least one yellow pigment selected from C.I.Pigment Yellow 139, C.I.Pigment Yellow 150 and C.I.Pigment Yellow 185. When the following organic EL element is used, which has spectral characteristics including two or more maxima within a wavelength range from 400 nm to 700nm, has peak wavelengths (λ) and (λ) where the emission intensity reaches a maximum in at least a wavelength range from 430 nm to 485 nm and a range from 580 nm to 620 nm, and has a ratio (I/I) of an emission intensity Iat the wavelengthλto an emission intensity Iat the wavelengthλof 0.4 or more and 1.2 or less, chromaticity point (xG, yG) of the green filter segment in a CIE color system satisfies xG≤0.270 and yG≥0.650; and the color filter has a film thickness of 3.0μm or less. The red filter segment contains C.I.Pigment Red 179 and has a film thickness of 3.0μm or less.</p> |
