<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a primary coated optical fiber that enables stabilization of a cure degree of a primary coated optical fiber in the length direction and lengthening of a length of the primary coated optical fiber continuously manufactured.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for manufacturing a primary coated optical fiber in which an active ray-curing resin composition is applied and cured on the outer periphery of an optical fiber to form covering layers. A curing step of the active ray-curing resin composition applied on the outer periphery of the optical fiber is executed by sequentially using two or more active ray irradiation apparatuses 18 and 20, and the second and subsequent active ray irradiation apparatuses 20 are an ultraviolet irradiation apparatus. An active ray of a first active ray irradiation apparatus 18 first used is an electron ray, or an ultraviolet ray having a wavelength shorter than the ultraviolet ray of any of the ultraviolet irradiation apparatuses subsequently used, and cures the outermost layer of the covering layers.</p> |
