Provided are a slide rail mechanism and a vehicle seat, with which dislodgement-inhibiting performance with respect to a spring member exerting pressure on an operation handle is improved. A slide rail mechanism (4) of a vehicle seat (S) is provided with: a lock member (30) which restricts relative movement of an upper rail (20) with respect to a lower rail (10); a spring member (37) which exerts pressure such that the relative movement of the upper rail (20) is in a locked state; and an operation handle (50) which withstands the exerted force of the spring member (37), and causes the lock member (30) to be positioned in a lock release state. An engagement groove (46) which engages with a portion of the spring member (37) is provided to a holding part (40) of the lock member (30). Furthermore, a protruded restriction part (47) is formed in the holding part (40) of the lock member (30) such that an opening of the engagement groove (46) is narrowed.
