PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boron-containing solid catalyst and a method for producing the same, and to provide a method for producing a hydride of an aromatic nitro compound or the like using the catalyst.SOLUTION: There is provided a solid catalyst for a hydrogenation reaction of various compounds including a nitro compound, comprising a boron (B)-substituted mesoporous silica catalyst composed of mesoporous silica which contains boron carrying palladium (oxide or metal) nanoparticles. Also provided is a method for producing a hydride of an aromatic nitro compound, an aromatic nitrile compound or an aromatic hydroxide (phenol) under scCOconditions, wherein the raw material compound is hydrogenated using the boron (B)-substituted mesoporous silica catalyst in scCOto produce a hydride of the raw material compound.
