PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting fixture capable of preventing collisions between light signals and a visible light communication system using the lighting fixture.SOLUTION: A lighting fixture 1 includes: an electrical light source 10; a light source drive unit 11 that drives the light source 10 to turn on; and a control unit 12 that controls the light source drive unit 11. The control unit 12 controls the light source drive unit 11 so that a light signal which uses a beam of light from the light source 10 as a medium is transmitted with a probability smaller than 50% at intervals of predetermined standby time while the light source 10 is activated. The standby time is set to be longer than the time required to transmit the light signal. Compared to the case where the standby time is set to be smaller than the time required for transmitting the light signal, or the probability of the transmission of light signal is set higher than 50%, the collision between the light signals is reduced. |
