PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter material and a method of manufacturing the same which can prevent a dimension in a direction along a compression direction from shortening than a dimension before compression when force in the compression direction applied continuously is removed.SOLUTION: A filter material is structured so as to overlap each clearance maintaining part formed on one surface side of a filter material original fabric and each clearance maintaining part formed on the other surface side of the filter material original fabric through each flat part.
