PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a yellow discoloration inhibitor containing aldose-based saccharides as an active ingredient for inhibiting yellow discoloration of general shoji papers containing shoji papers for general home use and shoji papers for industrial use in a paper industry.SOLUTION: A yellow discoloration inhibitor is a solution of at least one or more kind of monosaccharide, polysaccharide, aldose of reduced saccharide or a mixture thereof with the solid content of 5 to 50% as an active ingredient of a yellow discoloration inhibitor, and at least one or more kind of p-hydroxybenzoic acid ester, glycol ether or benzoic ester with the solid content of 0.1% to 5% is added to the solution as an antisepsis and antifungal agent of the yellow discoloration inhibitor.
