PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rational method of manufacturing a nitrided or carbonitrided member having a corrosion resistant surface with small roughness.SOLUTION: The manufacturing method comprises the following method steps: oxidation of the surfaces of nitrided or carbonitrided members in a first oxidation step; at least one second oxidation of the member surfaces in an immediately subsequent oxidation step; and polishing of the member surfaces in a final method step, directly after the final oxidation. |
