Provided is a polarizing film that has an excellent appearance and that can contribute to the improvement of display characteristics of an image display device. This polarizing film is constituted by a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin film including iodine. At least one of the surfaces of the polyvinyl alcohol-based resin film comprises an iodine-reduced layer.
