<p>A display device (1) is provided with the following: a display panel (10); a backlight (20) that illuminates the display panel (10) from behind; a chassis (2) with a recess (2a) formed in the front surface thereof, the display panel (10) and the backlight (20) being contained within said recess (2a); and a transparent member (5) that covers the recess (2a). The display panel (10) and the backlight (20) are fitted into the recess (2a) and thereby positioned within a plane parallel to the display surface (10a) of the display panel (10). Also, the transparent member (5) and the bottom surface of the recess (2a) serve to position the display panel (10) and the backlight (20) in the direction perpendicular to the display surface (10a).</p> |
