PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of industrially manufacturing a nucleus hydrogenation polymer with less coloring.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a nucleus hydrogenation polymer includes hydrogenating an aromatic ring part of an aromatic polymer which is a copolymer of an aromatic vinyl compound and (meth)acrylate in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst and separating the hydrogenation catalyst and a volatile component from a polymer solution after the hydrogenation reaction, and the water concentration in the polymer before the hydrogenation reaction is 0.5 mass% or less.
