The invention relates to a stator (1) for an electric motor (2), comprising a number of stator laminations (5) which are stacked in a star-shaped lamination stack (4) and which have radially extending stator teeth (8) that form a central cylindrical pole shoe (9). The stator further comprises a cylindrical laminated joke (3) which is formed by stacked annular laminations (12) and into which the star-shaped lamination stack (4) is inserted. The annular laminations (12) of the laminated yoke (2) of the stator are locally open, being preferably provided with a radial separation slot (15).
