The method involves burning natural gas, fermentation gas, methane or dump gas by an internal combustion engine (1) for producing effluent stream (2). An electrical generator (17) or working machine (3) is driven by the combustion engine. Supply of vaporized working medium from a vaporizer (5) into a steam engine (10) is dynamically controlled by rerouting a varying portion of the vaporous working medium from the vaporizer to the steam engine through a bypass part (11) such that frequency of current fed into an alternative current (AC) power supply network (25) is kept constant. An independent claim is also included for a system for producing electrical power for an AC power supply network.
