Synthetic resin foam, e.g. urea-formaldehyde foam, is placed on surfaces, or cavities are filled therewith, the surfaces to which the foam is applied being anchored thereto by means of an adhering layer. The adhering layer may comprise a polyester or polyether resin, which may contain fibres of cotton or glass, which may be applied simultaneously or subsequently; alternatively such fibres may be included in the foam. The fibres or the surface to be coated may additionally be coated with an adhesive based on neoprene or on polyvinyl acetate dispersed in an ammonium salt solution. The adhering layer may be applied by spraying. |
